Let's Build a Stronger Lakewood Together

Doing the right thing, for me, is at the heart of integrity.

Too often we see politicians saying one thing in public but doing the opposite behind the scenes.

We, you and I, will not always agree and we may often see things differently. But this is where I hope to earn your trust.

I will continually work to sustain your trust so that you have faith that I will always strive to do the right thing.

Even when we hold divergent views, I will welcome perspectives and experiences different from my own. This is what Democracy should look like.

It should be no surprise that I consider myself to be bold and progressive. How could I be anything other? My great-great grandfather was a slave until he was 12 years old.

And here I am asking for your support of my candidacy to serve on Lakewood City Council. This is literally what progress looks like.

Creating a more just and equitable future in Lakewood is possible. We must work arduously to balance the scales toward the most patriotic and noble expression of the ideal of "Liberty and Justice for All." I intend to shine a light on and champion the cause of equity and inclusion.

How many times have you heard an elected official speak to their policy positions from the perspective of equity? To be progressive is to always to seek to expand the electoral franchise... to work actively to balance the scales of equity; seeking justice and fairness for each of us because it is simply the right thing to do.

Lakewood is working to build an inclusive community. As we look to the future, what is the right thing for Lakewood?

I will always stand for progress and moving our beloved Lakewood into the promise of building a truly inclusive community.
